Domestic Refuse Collection Mobility Issues - For people with physical disabilities the task of moving a wheelie bin to the kerb for collection can be a struggle. Obstacles between the home and the kerb can also add to the problem.
The final design incorporated a dead man brake mechanism, preventing the wheelie bin from rolling down a slight slope if the user let go of the handle. The handle needs to be pushed down to a more comfortable position, this then releases a brake rod allowing the bin to be moved.
