The Mechanic's Utensil

As technology continues to transform the world into an easier and easier place to live, the feeling of accomplishment through physical labor becomes even more important to many of us. Those of us who cherish this feeling have an attachment to the tools that complete these jobs.

Tool companies are beginning to latch on to this concept, and bringing specialty “tools” to the market. For example, Craftsman has released a bottle opener with a ratchet handle. Outdoor accessory producer, Chums, has released a paracord bracelet with flint clasp for those intent on wilderness journeys.

A major component that is missing from this new set of kitsch is the most versatile utensil of all--the spoon. For those who like to be further from the grid, cooking and eating meals is essential.
