Medusa (Multi-Colour Light) - My aim for this project was to create a table light that would be able to shine any colour the user desired. I felt that the use of colour and play were both lacking in the lights that are available on the market at the moment as most of them are really uninspiring.
Harmony (Human-Powered Mp3 Player) - This project was called “Batteries Not Included”, and the aim was take an existing product and re-design it so that it would be powered by a human. I decided to work on an Mp3 player because I felt that it would be a worthwhile aim to try and add to the enjoyment of the music through the movement involved in powering the object. It can be used in many different ways to try and combat RSI, and the design solves one of the common problems of how to store the headphones.
Wir Hier - Service Design - The title of the competition was “Re-Designing States of Mind”, and we were asked to create a service that would aid or help manage a contradictory behavior. The contradiction that we decided to use was: "You don't see what you already have" The next step was to look at the problem from a collective rather than an individual level. We created a group of services with the intention of: > Improving the sense of community in the area. > Using resources in a much more efficient manner. Enable Mobile Phone - The goal for this project was to design a mobile phone which could be used by elderly members of society, or those who are not comfortable with existing mobile phones. The basic form of the ‘ez-pz’ model is wider to allow people with arthritic hands to hold it, It has a large and clear ‘OLight’ display and the menu system and navigation uses a more sensible cognitive map than existing models because it flows from left to right.
Skills - This image is a small selection of some of my skills. As far as programs are concerned, I am fluent in Photoshop and Rhinoceros, and have good knowledge of: Form - Z, AutoCAD 2000, Macromedia Flash, Director and Dreamweaver (Web), Adobe Premiere and Pinnacle Studio 8 (Video)
