Coink Project

Every year, three hundred plastic cups are used in the US alone, and this result in serious environmental pollution. Some people do recycle disposable cups, but sometimes choose the wrong way and ultimately harm the environment even more.

To prevent contaminating the plastic cups, we created a lid to fixate on top of the cup to reuse the finishing product as a coin bank. To directly present the product as a coin back, we used the traditional image of a pig and named the product 'Coink', a combination of coin and the sound pigs make; oink.

We used silicon for the lid, to ensure users can easily lift it on and off. Since plastic cups are standardized, they can be used regardless of the brand. Coins can be easily dropped through the hole in the lid.

Organic coloring was used for the lids; thus unhazardous to the human body. We created three warm pastel colors mint, purple and pink which will be suitable as an interior prop.
