This game started as a D&D 3rd ed. based tactical board game published on a zine I made in collaboration with my friend. Later I turned it into a comedic skirmish RPG. The paper miniatures were already in the first version. The art is by me.
As the game system doesn't use a battle map and distances are abstract, at the beginning I thought that the miniatures would be useless. In play testing I found out that the skirmishes were confusing (especially due to the large number of kobolds), and brought the miniatures back. The art is by me.
The character sheets combine features from several "Powered by Apocalypse" game features, but also had to create some new ones. I made the graphic design of the sheets (trying to match the Apocalypse World playbook style), but I'm not a graphic designer.
As in other "Powered by the Apocalypse" games the moves define the game. Everything essential to the game (and it's genre) is defined as a move. Other things are left out or use some generic move or roll. This channels the player characters' actions in simulating the chosen genre.
As this is a game about war, I had to make simple mass combat rules to see how the fight around the player characters is going. The rules also limit the legth of the battle to save time and to reduce the need for a total victory. The enemies tactics are quite procedural and ease the burden on the GM.
