Bolt - A retractable pen inspired by an AR-15 bolt carrier.
design process - With this project, I knew what I wanted from the start: a pen mimicking the bolt carrier of a modern rifle. After jotting down my concept, I quickly moved to CAD to work out the details. From there, I created production drawings then started machining.
machining - I machined 7 of the custom parts of my pen from 316 stainless steel and the eighth from Delrin. a few fasteners were purchased from McMaster-Carr, and the cartridge is a Cross Selectip Gel Rolling Ball refill.
