Production art created from studio key art; an extensive time-saving auto-bleed workflow was implemented for this larger-than-life display.
Standard key art is adapted across multiple sizes, with each panel thoughtfully composed to maintain "Cowabunga!" integrity.
We were awarded both the pallet train display and the end caps, and our team produced all art files within a very short timeframe.
Creating production art from a 3D concept requires careful attention to detail, utilizing smart masking for faster, cleaner production for our furry friends.
One of my most challenging projects, involving complex artwork that required precise adjustments to every element—masks, characters, backgrounds, and highlights—to maintain brand identity and achieve flawless execution.
Adapting artwork from a horizontal panel to a vertical format is no easy task. It requires a strong understanding of character scale, positioning, and composition, along with the technical skill to navigate complex layered artwork.
The Disney artist created an excellent Photoshop layout using Smart Objects throughout the artwork. To prepare the files for production, I had to break apart each Smart Object across more than ten deliverables and set up all required bleeds. While I automated parts of the process, I also manually refined clipping paths and masks where needed to ensure smooth gradient transitions and the highest-quality output.
The client’s initial concept was not optimized for the display’s proportions, so I quickly developed alternative layouts using brand-approved assets and guidelines. I also suggested angling the header background to make Captain America more prominent. I produced all final production artwork, resulting in a highly impactful retail display.
