Looking Out - I created several new pieces for an art show in SE Portland. Since it was for a coffee shop with a cat theme, I went with portraits of animals.
Puppy in Blue - I created several new pieces for an art show in SE Portland. Since it was for a coffee shop with a cat theme, I went with portraits of animals, even a dog.
Unicorn Series: Graff's Unicorn - This is my first series down in acrylic paint. I used to love unicorns as a child and had a recent reintroduction to them. I was inspired to create this imagery after watching the director's cut of Blade Runner. It is a diptych of two canvases to reinforce the separation between the message and Deckard's humanity.
Fuck the Tram - The assignment for the week was to illustrate a famous idiom. It also happened to be the weekend our teacher put a huge sign on his roof reading "Fuck the Tram," the public transportation for OHSU that the whole city paid for. I already had some feelings brewing about the new system and the opportunity was too good to pass up.
Buck Weaver - An illustration I did for Northwest Films of Buck Weaver. I had to piece it together from several different photos in order to create a full stadium and accurate uniform. The original reference picture was so low quality I didn't even see the stripes on the hat... Thank goodness for google, I guess.
Bath time - This image was done as a gift for a friend. Her children were playing in the bath and I decided to illustrate the moment for her. Done in pencil.
Biggie - This picture was done for a friend that was a huge fan of Notorious B.I.G. Done in prismacolor pencil.
St. Vitus Dance Club - Done for Someday Lounge, but we ended up going a different direction. They wanted a human representation of St. Vitus for a dance party night. I gave him a vinyl record halo and added in the moth from the Someday Lounge logo to help identify the location of the event.
Winning Shot - I made this painting as a gift for a golf-enthusiast. I used acrylics to create this. I wanted to add in some tension by having the golf ball on the cusp of falling into the hole.
KMFDM Promotional Material - Intended for use by the band KMFDM if they did a show at the Roseland Theatre. I developed an illustration of devil nurse in order to stay true to the aesthetic of the band. I chose to avoid blood on the poster to curb the offensiveness so that local stores would display it. I incorporated blood splatter onto the tickets for the fans.
Unicorn Series: Monocerus - This is my first series down in acrylic paint. I used to love unicorns as a child and had a recent reintroduction to them. I was inspired to create this imagery from the constellation Monocerus, using metallic flakes to create an outline.
Unicorn Series: Shiny Horn - This is my first series down in acrylic paint. I used to love unicorns as a child and had a recent reintroduction to them. I was inspired to create this imagery by Neil Patrick Harris' character in the Harold and Kumar movies. I used metallic flakes to build up a shiny horn.
Unicorn Series: Music Notes - This is my first series down in acrylic paint. I used to love unicorns as a child and had a recent reintroduction to them. I was inspired to create this imagery because of my deep love of music and the imagination behind it.
Unicorn Series: Running Rainbow - This is my first series down in acrylic paint. I used to love unicorns as a child and had a recent reintroduction to them. I was inspired to create this imagery because rainbows and unicorns appear together in cliche fantasy imagery.
