Hakama Jeans

Hakama is the name of the traditional pants wore by ninja in feudal Japan. Since I aimed to make jeans that allow the wearer to move quickly and comfortably while being exceptionally durable. I went through over 10 prototypes before I drafted a pattern that fit my vision. I constructed the final prototype from heavy Japanese denim and Gutterman tera 40 thread. The hardware was designed to ease repairs, as the buttons are attached with screws, rather than rivets. The branding patch is laser etched, rather than embossed, giving the jeans a more contemporary feel.
Hakama jeans are designed with functionality in mind, and boast a wealth of features. Dual sets of back pockets allow secure storage, and expansion points in the seat. Elastic gussets give the front pockets a secure opening that is large enough for ease of use. Ergonomic front pocket design keeps contents on the outside of the legs and increases comfort during activity.
