In two years at the lab (2003-2005), Abhimanyu worked on a number of projects, mainly in the area of low-cost, mass-market, technology solutions for emerging economies. Responsibilities ranged from market and consumer research, conceptualising points of intervention and interviewing stakeholders to create project proposals, evolving product concepts, to actual design of the software/hardware solutions, user testing and coordinating the efforts of the various technical teams involved in the projects.
As a Human Factors and Usability Design specialist, Abhimanyu worked on a number of web and software related projects, while on deputation from Human Factors International. He worked on projects like inventory management devices for mom-and-pop stores, digital pen and tablet - based communication solutions for rural villages that leveraged the existing postal network, and distance education platforms.
