Smart vac uses a rotary segment system to rapidly focus the suction. A beater bar is not required as the base vibration is acieved using a 'reed' in the airflow. This reed sets up a resonance, which aggitates the dust from the carpet. Stripes on the main body illuminate to indicate dust levels.
