Edition Hotel Stairwell Glass Sculpture
NWS were commissioned, by Ian Schrager Company, to propose a concept for a glass sculpture over one of the stairwells for their Edition Hotel development in Bangkok.
This model is fabricated using P95 acrylic and vacuum formed PETG. The actual sculpture would be a glass tube construction, with stainless steel and aircraft cable.
Due to the complexity of the piece, the majority of the tubes used would require no curve and potentially pre-bent spines.
This piece carefully navigates the no fly zones within the stairwell, while maintaining a continuous flow and appearance of wrapping around the floor plate.
