Seymour Road Lobby Glass Sculpture
My introduction to working hands on with glass for Nikolas Weinstein Studio. This section, the 'Knot', was a complex array of twists and kinks, which made up a secondary piece to the main sculpture.
The principle components are glass, stainless steel and aircraft cable, which includes the sculpture fabric itself, as well as the structural interface within the building structure.
The upper section of this piece was designed to attach to the 1st level floor plate. A custom made pairing rod, which was disguised beneath the floor, was devised to support the tubes as they seemingly peeled away from the adjacent handrail.
