Paper Light Box

This project was a challenge in maximising the potential of paper to make a photography light box. I made several models and prototypes of ideas to house lighting electronics in a paper construction. The final design uses translucent paper on the sides and top of the box to diffuse natural light. Whilst the stronger, thicker paper of the frame supports the electronics. The entire box flattens to fit inside a standard A3 envelope. This project was part of my Industrial Design education in a subject called ‘User Centred Design’.

Engaging in this challenge taught me how to leverage the intrinsic structural qualities of paper for a consumer product.
