Responsive Ebook – UX Lead / IA

Role: McGraw-Hill wanted to redesign the user interface for its ebooks in an adaptive way to provide the most consistent quality experience between devices. We were only allowed to touch the user interface, and had no access to the underlying codebase. This was specifically challenging because the way the books were rendered was closely wedded to the content, over which we had no control. We were able to overlay native touch gestures and behaviors in a manner that, when we would be able to redo the underlying ebook software, we could build off of this user interface.
