Civil Right's Museum

ARCH 3256: Design Studio 5
NOVEMBER 2010
This project involved designing a museum in a vacant lot located in Houston, Texas. The lot was in the museum district area near the Menil Museum. The design was to take visitors on a journey through the Civil Rights Movement and of course be aesthetically pleasing. Zoning out certain areas and making the journey as interesting as possible was a very important process as there was a
lot of program to fit into the small lot. There are six main display rooms to house
the six separate era exhibits on the second through fourth floor, each floor
holding two. The bottom floor houses the entrance, offices and auditorium.
