Magnolia Project 2017 (Historical Building 1925)

Built in 1925, throughout the centuries the program has transformed from a Train Engine Manufacturer, to Import Export Train facility, to the first All African American Fire Station, and finally reside to a Catholic Church. In our new chapter, this restoration and adaptive reuse project will enable our modern design to be integrated internally and externally within Historical preservation requirements. The building gained many advantages and disadvantages, by maintaining the front brick facade created many limitations to design however in-turn produced more architectural characters that was then utilized and enhanced.
In the end, the modern substitution created a great interlude to the new rear unit addition. A car garage and storage conversation to a 2-Story single family dwelling. The current garage layout was maintained and provided suitable conditions for living, kitchen, and dining. The only incorporated additions was a 2-Story bedroom tower over seeing the lot.
