THESIS PROJECT

MISSION STATEMENT

The purposed site is located at the boarders of West Oakland, in a disconnected mist of transportation central. West Oakland was deemed undesirable due to historical image and the vast disconnect beyond its limits, barricaded by freeways and industrial facilities limited West Oakland from growth. A solution was to rebranding West Oakland in to a destination, a tourist attraction of sorts to enable a positive aspect in a dimming setting, erecting a linear structure spanning cross all main transit venues, Amtrak Trains, Freight Trains, Interstate Freeway 880, West Oakland Bart, and AC Transit.
The Transit Terminal and Museum encompass a Bay Area Train Museum, the historical development of San Francisco Rail and the Pacific Union Rails, three interactive park settings for event spaces and festivals. By creating a destination within West Oakland, Transit Terminal and Museum will encourage tourism, actives, resource and revenue.
