117 Lamp

This light sculpture was born from observing the natural world, specifically inspired by the Mycena nambi mushroom, a poisonous and bioluminescent species belonging to the Marasmiaceae family. Its ability to emit light, the result of a biochemical reaction between oxygen, luciferin, and luciferase, serves as a natural strategy to attract insects and disperse its spores. This phenomenon not only guides, but also creates an ephemeral link between organism and environment.

Based on this natural logic, the Nambi lamp was conceived as a “guiding light” that reinterprets this bioluminescence in a poetic and functional object. The lamp incorporates a cyclical lighting system that “breathes”: the light slowly intensifies, fades, and reemerges.

The system works with a proximity sensor. When approached, the lamp activates gently and sequentially, creating an immersive, sensitive, and delicate experience that transforms the space and connects the user with the subtle rhythms of nature.
