Just like a takeout box, we made leather storage box with no stitching, hardware or glue.
With soft goods, sewing is a huge part of the cost. We kept it simple and left the construction for the customer, saving time and money.
While interesting, the zipper construction was little hard for the average consumer to complete. Eventually I found an easier construction that anyone could do.
Using a tongue and slots, I was able to find a method of assembly that can be used on future styles and anyone can do.
When you sew a replacement button onto a shirt, it becomes yours in a unique and powerful way. By leaving the assembly to the customer, the product becomes more a part of them than if they had simply bought a leather box.
