Iris
Iris is a battery operated tabletop banquet lighting solution. The base and light housing for Iris were 3D printed using a copper/PLA blend filament. A remote control for the battery operated led light puck can be housed in a small opening in the base of the lamp slowing for easy storing.The vessel that creates the dazzling color burst effect was hand blown at a local glass studio using the color aventurine which has bronze shards melted into the glass. Theses shards reflect light and bounce it a full 360 degrees splitting light from the 12 led puck above into the light spectrum. (2nd place IES Student Lighting Design Competition Winner)
