This project was an exploration in translating the iconic design language of the Porsche 911 into a category far outside the automotive world: a high-performance vacuum cleaner. Developed as a concept for Porsche Design, the goal was to create a product that embodied the essence of the 911—precision engineering, aerodynamic form, and a legacy of speed and sophistication—within the context of a home appliance. As an industrial designer, I reimagined traditional vacuum cleaner proportions through the lens of automotive design, incorporating the fluid silhouette, stance, and surfacing cues of the Porsche 911. The form factor emphasized sleekness and motion, even at rest, while maintaining functional requirements like airflow, motor housing, and usability.
