Good Samaritan Society Waconia Skilled Care Addition and Remodeling

Addition of a 32-bed Post Acute Care center and complete remodeling for an updated 64-bed Long Term Care facility.

Budget: $11.2 Million
Area: 84,000 SF

This project brought a facility up to current best practices and aesthetics for skilled nursing. A new tunnel allows direct discharge of patients from a hospital into the new Post Acute Care addition.

A new Therapy suite is the centerpiece of the addition, accessed from the new lobby.

Remodeling of the Long Term Care wing created more private rooms, in two households per floor. Each household features a residential kitchen, dining room and living room.

Residents and visitors are welcomed with a entry canopy, but also have the option of an enclosed, heated garage for the winter months.

Construction completion slated for Fall 2016.

Role: Senior Project Architect, a team of six. Designed with Nor-Son, Inc. Renderings by team.
