B9 and Robby the Robot display - Robotics at South Florida Science Museum was comprised of a rented exhibition from Carnegie Science Center (which I designed back in 1995-96) and several pieces built in-house to augment the display.
B9 and Robby the Robot display - The displays for science fiction robots were designed and built in-house to complement the traveling exhibit.
R2D2 display - Display built in-house. custom printed backdrop and environmental graphics throughout the gallery were also made in-house.

Robotics gallery - We made the giant Robotics sign from 3" thick styrofoam. The two end effector activities I designed in 1997 are in the foreground.
Robotics gallery - The display rented from Carnegie Science Center was a downsized 2500 sq. ft. version of the original 6000 sq. ft. traveling exhibition. All of the pieces I designed back in the '90's were still part of the show.
Robotics gallery - We rented another small traveling exhibit called Robot Rodeo to further enhance Robotics at South Florida Science Museum
Robotics gallery - This temporary exhibit filled over 3000 sq. ft. The entire gallery was painted a deep blue to unify the space.
Robot Arm activity - One of the most complicated custom mechanical devices I've ever designed. Even after over ten years of travel and millions of uses, the exhibit was still in great shape.
hydraulic end effector activity - Another complex activity I designed back in 1997. Still working great.
Robotics gallery - Robotics was a highly active gallery. South Florida Science Museum was the 23rd museum to host the CSC exhibit.

Robokiosk with R2D2 and sonar sensors in background - Two of my earliest exhibit designs (from way back in 1994) are still part of the smaller traveling Robotics exhibit.
Robot arm archway - The main hall was fully themed for Robotics. The custom made curtains shown in this photo covered a bank of windows and the museum's Mastodon skeleton, which didn't fit in with a technology exhibit. Posters created in house were hung throughout the gallery to immerse the visitor in the subject matter.
Sorting Arm Robot - The only functioning industrial robot in the robotics exhibit was the Adept Sorting Arm activity. Another of my old exhibit designs from 1996.
