The design inspiration was taken from OSX's Time Machine. It's an extremely light data-driven application which loads its config file from a specified location to construct itself every time it is viewed. All content is external and loaded at runtime.
Another data-driven web app, the top-of-page "tout" delivered a custom news feed.
