Rodney Lewis - Tribal rights defended at Supreme Court - Rodney Lewis, a member of the Tohono O'Odham tribe in Arizona is the first Native American lawyer to win a case in the US Supreme Court. It was a water rights case with far reaching implications for 1st nations peoples. Mr. Lewis earned his undergraduate degree from Trinity University in Texas. Tom McGovern PhD graduate of Fordham Univ. - Dr. Tom McGovern lay paralyzed in a hospital with Gilles Barre Syndrome for 400 days. He wrote a book on his experience by dictating into a microphone. While I photographed him for his Alma Mater , Fordham University, he confided that he felt like he was well on the road to recovery when he could finally drive a golf ball 200 yards. UNM grads teach in Arizona - When University of New Mexico grads smile at different times, you need new jokes or superior PhotoShop skills. We left Washington's smile alone but he was on a different wall and lacked color. This was shot in a reconstruction of Arizona's first one-room school house.
