Bird House Concept - The ultimate consumer, the bird, was the main focus of my birdhouse design. The bird seeks shelter from rain, and seeks warmth, as indicated by its tendency to build nests inside of the letter "O" of lighted retail signage, and futile attempts at building nests on top of chimneys. The final design combines marketable aesthetics with a natural appearance and solar powered infra- red heat source, attracting the bird through its own survival instincts.
Racer's Floor Lamp - I designed and built the working lamp from a brake rotor, some brake tubing, various raw metals, and parts from a track lighting system. It has three settings, operated by three switches. The accelerator pedal and the brake pedal operate push-on, push-off switches in the floor panel, and the shifter lever is mounted to a toggle switch. The halogen lighting provides ample work light at my personal drawing table. The Form Z model came after construction.
JUGGERNAUT - High Performance Pogo Stick - This was our final project in 3D modeling class. The concept was based on an ethanol, rather than methanol, powered internal combustion v-twin engine. The engine in turn pumps pressure to twin hydraulic cylinders, propelling the rider ridiculously skyward. the final presentation combines the model with photos of the rider and a skate park background using Photoshop.
