Here are some early logo studies. Neal originally was set on having his name typed out with a simple illustrated fishing hook to compliment it. I did what he asked but then decided to use his initials and the hook inside a circle. He really liked this idea and we moved on from there.
After developing the circular brandmark, I began to push it farther with these studies. I moved away from the perfect circle and began to work with oval shapes and stroke weights and styles. The final brandmark was chosen from this group.
Simple business card design for Neal.
This is the front cover (right) and back (left) of a marketing piece that Neal and I developed. He wanted something that he could send to companies that could be potential sponsors. These companies could see the advantages of sponsoring Neal through this piece. Both images seen are my original photography.
These are the inside pages of the marketing piece. Neal wanted to show his worth and experience in the business with these pages. I used a wood finish background to try to convey the outdoors feeling that Neal wanted. I also decided to introduce the hook used in the brandmark as bullet points for the main headings.

Neal Ramsey Brand Development

Neal Ramsey is a professional fisherman from Harrison, OH. He approached me with the idea of creating a logo for him to help identify himself as a brand. Neal is trying to take the final step into fishing and wants to become a full time professional fisherman. I created a logo, marketing piece, business card, and a few other miscellaneous for Neal.
