The project was to create a magazine cover based on something from a list of ideas we were given, I chose gaming because video games have always been a big part of my life ever since I was a kid. When we were assigned the project the Nintendo Gameboy had been out for 35 years and the Gameboy has always been very special to me because me and my sister would play on my dads old Gameboy from when he was a kid, thats even my hand holding up the gameboy in the cover! I decided to base the design of my magazine cover based on the very first ad for the Gameboy and made the magazine brand called “retro” because making my own brand of magazine fit what I was going for better and could more freely design the layout without trying to make it fit to an existing gaming magazine.
