We were told to make 2 different birthday cards with the main focus of the design was typography. I went with a Halloween theme because when the project was assigned early October and Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. For the skeleton, I made the outline of it be a lines of font “happy birthday” and from a distance it gives a unique look so someone could be drawn to look at it. I also wanted the text bubble to look like it was coming directly out of the skeletons mouth. The ghost was mainly built around the pun and want to show fluctuation in the voice in the font so I simply changed the height and size of the letters. On the inside of the card I left the left side blank so if someone wanted to leave a handwritten note or cash, they had space for it. I made the spots in the lighter color so they wouldn’t have to be white.
