This illustration will be based on a story I’m creating for children and young adults. The story will be based on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. This book will use each habit per book depicting the function the character will have to perform in each situation that he will encounter. In this illustration, I want to show ROBI's perseverance. My process for this creation, is doing all illustrations by hand, minimizing the use of digital coloring, and going more for a traditional method. Each page will be drawn and painted using water-based paints and inks.
For the medium, I'm using watercolor paints, pencils for base drawing, and waterproof ink, which does not bleed when using watercolor paint over watercolor paper 300lb cold press. The reason for using this paper is due to the amount of pigment I can add to each detail drawing since the fibers on the paper are much thicker. Giving me the freedom to even lift some colors and do tone corrections.
