Renault 3-GO: A Vision for Future Urban Mobility
The Renault 3-GO was an independent study project I made during the Spring of 2024 at the Academy of Art University. The 3-GO explores what an electric urban vehicle designed in the post-autonomous era might look like.
The allure of the 3-GO was its focus on manual, non-automated driving. This was an attempt to preserve driver engagement and excitement in the autonomous era. The 3-GO also included a transforming seating layout and chassis.
There were two distinct driving modes. First, the "3-GO" mode featured a staggered seating layout with the driver at the center. The passengers sat on either side of the driver, allowing up to three people to sit in the vehicle.
The second driving mode is the "EGO" mode. In this mode, the driver's seat moves backward to merge with the passenger seats. The roof also lowers to create a more aggressive visual profile. Finally, a small rear wing springs from the rear bodywork. This driving mode creates a more driver-focused experience.
