This is a Revit rendered floor plan of the contracted space. The building holds many diverse events ranging from weddings to sorority meetings. Some events are catered and the design provides additional space for food preparation, presentation, and storage. The areas in white were not part of the contract.
This Revit drawn and rendered perspective of the Ballroom does not depict the prior dark and damaged brown walls. They were replaced with a lighter slate to brighten the room, while maintaining the original design.
The corridor hallway is between the Ballroom and the Fireplace Room, and also contains the main entrance to the building. This area will display art work created by students at UCA.
This is a Revit drawn and rendered perspective of the Fireplace room. Originally this space had the same dark brown wooden panels as the Ballroom had on all the walls from floor to ceiling.

McCastlain Hall

This job involved an entire renovation of the Fireplace Room, Ballroom, and adjacent corridors, as well as the south wing of McCastlain Hall at the University of Central Arkansas. The building along with seven others on the campus are part of the UCA Historic District and their original appearance had to be considered while designing the interior and especially any changes leading to alteration of the exterior walls. The design challenge reflects the consideration of opposing community views between keeping the original Georgian style versus going with a more modern one.
