The secondary aim for this project was to educate us in the more effective ways of choosing a suitable concept from a number of possible ones. The table shown, displays a more orderly way of selecting these concepts. The sketches relating to the table will be uploaded soon.
Some images of my test rig and some text explanations. The point of this test rig was to determine to range of movement and minimum/ maximum heights.
Based on rough dimensions gleaned from the test rig and basic sketches, I created a surface model on Alias, then exported the file to Inventor to create these technical drawings, then re-exported them to KeyShot 4, for the purpose of these visualizations.

We were assigned this project with the intent and direction aimed toward designing and making a prototype rig. The rig has since been disassembled, but images can be seen in the sheets.

3D modelling was achieved using Autodesk Alias, with the future plan being a detailed Inventor model.

Analysis of public transport showed that there is not enough areas or objects to provide rest/ standing aids. This design counteracts this issue by providing extendable standing rests to suit small children, all they way up to the elderly.

This rest would be attached to areas of train cars, in and around the entrance compartment and walkways.
