The concept was designed to incorporate easy solutions to the basic activities involved viz.
1) The toggle of intensity , which is obscurely placed in most devices.
2) Ease of removal of toast which is a tricky chore in most devices.
The proposed concept elevated the toggle mechanism and used a self indicating dial to facilitate the reading and varying of the intensity. The form created has a tapered top that increases the distance between the bread and the toaster top for easier removing of the bread.
The engaging lever (as visible in the top image) is set in a visually aiding cut-out.
The form is clean and elegant with an understated style.
Also, the dial has a back-lit line that informs the user wether the device is on or off and also points to the chosen setting.
