Bent Intentions - Bent Intensions - LAO - Embracing Culture in Form
2008

Bent Intentions was a 6 weeks long project, with the intention being to create a form which was laser cut out of aircraft plywood, a delicate material, which would encompass a culture’s take on the winter solstice.

My final product cradled objects such as flowers or candles and hung suspended from fixtures or windows. Two different forms could be constructed out of LAO, and was packaged flat so that the buyer could send to their loved ones through standard mail, and and the end user would assemble it with ease. The product came with illustrated instructions and a short description on the Thai ritual, LOI KRATHONG. After a cost analysis, each package came to $36 and would be shipped in a standard 10 inch envelope.
