Departmental Elective (3D Textile Forms: Jewellery)
This was a jewellery piece inspired from the tribal jewellery worn by African tribes.
The concept behind making this jewellery was taken from the way tribals collect natural materials from nature and then turn it into meaningful artifacts. They use things like horns, wood, bones, twigs, leaves, feathers, etc. to make elaborate jewellery and other things to sustain their livelihood and decorate themselves. The idea was to was to create a structure from nature and to enhance its look with the help of various textile surface techniques. The surface of the piece is made up of leather which is braided with yarns which gives a printed look to the surface.
