Nox is an evening lamp based on Arlo Guthrie's quote "You can't have a light without a dark to stick it in", designed to accentuate contrasts, both between light and dark, and form and function. During the day, it is meant to live in someone’s
room or home and act as an interesting sculptural object, while serving as an
object of comfort at night.
At nighttime, Nox can illuminate a room enough to provide visibility, while maintaining the contrasting darkness spoken of in the Arlo Guthrie quote Nox is designed for.
