Original sketches of design process
At the beginning of the design, I was able to come up with five possible configurations for the chair. After further analysis, only three configurations were actually possible.
Shown here is one of the posters that was to be designed. The specifications for this poster called for a full scale profile view of the chair.

Fall 2012 | 4th Year | Flip Chair

For one of my studio classes, we were given the competition guidelines for the Battery Conservancy's "Draw Up a Chair" Competition. The design of my chair revolved around the idea that a chair should be highly versatile. As people age, they do not lose the childlike tendencies from within. This chair was specifically designed to encourage interaction between people but also between the person and the chair.

My chair design was chosen as one of five chairs from my class to be submitted to the competition in New York.
