My Contribution: My main contribution to the design of this project was being the group leader. I encouraged the group to move forward with the project and decided on what needed to be done for each class period. All work was brought to me to be finalized before midterm and final critiques. Along with being group leader, I created a basic Sketchup model of our designated floors and drew up a lot of the CAD elevations for the final document set. As group leader, I felt accountable for ensuring the completion of the project and picked up the responsibility of creating the perspectives and the final poster. I was also part of the coordination group. My main portion of the work included figuring out the location of the elevator so that it suited the needs of all five floors. I also communicated with the other coordination group members to make sure the design of all floors of the department store were cohesive.

Spring 2012 | 3rd Year | Engo Department Store

While studying abroad in Italy, students chose teams of two or three students to complete the semester long design project. From those groups, one person joined the coordination group. Each team was given a floor of a local historical building to design into a five story department story. The coordination group was responsible for coordinating all vertical transportation and exterior elevations.
