The Redwalls Self-Titled CD - The Redwalls - Art direction, graphic design. Original screenprint art by Peter Mars. I was so thrilled to work with The Redwalls again! And on an amazing album to boot. It was great getting direct feedback from the guys (who are super-sweet) and the great Peter Mars himself! It was imperative to preserve the original print colors because that meant a lot to the guys and Peter. It was a fun project to work on, so you can imagine my excitement when Peter let me keep one of the original prints!
The Redwalls Self-Titled CD - The Redwalls - Art direction, graphic design. Original screenprint art by Peter Mars. This is the cd art I worked on for the band. The guys were really concerned about getting the yellow color to exactly match the color of the inside cover. Since the CD and coated stock of the cover were two different surfaces, I couldn't guarantee an exact color match. So I decided to make the CD a different tone of yellow. It turned out well, and the band was very happy with the results.
Redwalls EP CD design - The Redwalls EP. Art direction. This was my first project with them. The photo shoot with the guys was so much fun since we got to hang and watch them practice. For them, playing is as easy as breathing.
The Help Desk - "Peel The Sun" - Here is the front of the final album. I was really happy with how it turned out, and I was happier that Erik and Paul were ecstatic about it. You'll see it takes a lot of inspiration from earlier concepts. While the back features the moon guy, the front features the sun guy with random elements spilling out of his head. We thought it was an appropriate way to introduce The Help Desk to the world. It's playful... but deep. Oooooh. ^_^
The Help Desk - "Peel The Sun" - Here is the back of the final album that features the moon guy. The more we discussed the concepts, Erik and Paul were really liking the idea of balance, yin and yang, day and night... sun and moon.
The Help Desk - "Peel The Sun" - This is the inside of the album with track titles and credits.
The Help Desk - "Peel The Sun" - This is the CD tray with all of The Help Desk's thank yous.
The Help Desk - "Peel The Sun" - Here is the CD design that uses an earlier concept design. The silhouettes are that of The Help Desk members, Erik and Paul. And we have our sun guy (or moon guy??) chillin' at the bottom.
The Help Desk Album Art - Chicago-based band, The Help Desk, needed an artist to help announce their album to the world, so I was lucky enough to be their girl. These are the initial concepts I presented to them. We're currently combining two of the concepts to create a fun, expressive, and magnificent piece. Their album, "Peel the Sun," is due out early 2009.
