Graduate Table. - A semester long project in collaboration with fellow graduate students, this table was meant to collapse and travel in luggage. Built to fit into a ski bag, the table has a tension top stretched into place by materials found on site. The legs are made from aircraft aluminum laminated between layers of Ash, and the support rods are hollow aluminum tubes with custom lathed end fittings.

PET Table - Made from one 4'x4' sheet of PET (polyethylene terephthalate), and held together by hex cap bolts. Stands side table height, holds over 200lbs.
Finished Table - A coffee table I created for a furniture design class at Purdue University. I did all the work myself, including: welding, dove tailing, sanding, staining, grinding, and bleeding. The only thing I didnt do was the powdercoating - my friends at the motorcycle shop in Battleground, Indiana did that for me.

Sitz - Sitz’s seat and back utilize simple arcs to keep the user comfortable, and to keep from restricting the seating position. The seat and back are made from three 1/8th inch sheets of Baltic birch plywood laminated together using a form. The chair back fits into a slot in the chair seat, and is held together by three polished stainless steel rods that protrude through, and hold the chairs legs together by pressure fitment. Two rods are under the seat’s rear edge, and one above it, creating a springboard feel to the seat. The chair back has a tab that fits through the seat, which prevents the whole assembly from slipping out from between the rods. The legs are cut in gradual and simple arcs, thus leaving the form uncomplicated. The simple shape of the legs and the fact that no complicated processes are needed to make them reduces manufacturing time, and would allow the use of scrap wood.
