Briefed by Reckitt Benckiser, we were instructed to produce a design to improve the sustainability credentials of the company's brand 'Vanish'.
I began by researching into the user, task and environment in which the existing product is used, along with the life cycle of the original packaging. I found that a considerable proportion of the the energy footprint goes into tumble drying, which can use nearly four times as much energy as a washing machine.
My concept aims to reduce this energy use by designing and promoting the packaging to be reused as clothes peg storage. This will hopefully provoke consideration of using a washing line, along with extending the life cycle of the packaging.
