URBAN MUSEUM

This Design explores the cultural dimension of an urban furniture to re-define the collective memories enhanced spatial quality around the city. Simple but conscious design to create an acrylic bench with selected old objects or artifact pieces collected around the city embedded inside for display. This bench was intended to be located in public area to place the vivid modern cityscape and meaningful objects in juxtaposition, generating a counterpoint between memory and fast-moving city of Hong Kong. It also questions the pre-defined and static museum setting of displaying items in contrast to a busy urban landscape. Variations of the bench was also developed. Ergonomic engineering was also employed for functional comfort.
