Automotive Systems Protection Tube - First Place Winner in Student Competition
Collaborating with a team of two engineering students, three business students, and one other industrial design student, my team created a self-adhering protective tube for automotive wires, tubes, and cables. The tube can be cut to length and tightened into place by hand.
This was a competition sponsored by Federal Mogul Systems Protection. We were required to design the product, test its abilities using Solidworks and physical hands-on testing, and create a business plan including cost analyses and marketing strategy. After presenting our ideas along with a prototype and a demonstration of its functionality, we were chosen as the winning team.
As a part of our winnings, we presented our idea to a board of Federal Mogul and Chevrolet employees at the Chevrolet corporate headquarters in Michigan.
