ASSIMILATION Concept Board - Puma’s brief was to design a range that would be launched during the 2012 London Olympics. I took inspiration from the global aspect of the Olympics corresponding with the rich multicultural vibe of East London: where the event will take place. More specifically, I looked at various ‘ethnic’ silhouettes and the unifying, interlocking rings of the Olympic Logo for design detail. Six recurring continent prints were inspired by a found printed fabric resembling a topographical map.

ASSIMILATION Range Plan - The ASSIMILATION range comprises of 5 styles available in the 6 continent prints, and three supplementary non-print styles. Key fabrics include cotton and viscose jerseys, cotton jersey airtex, ribbing, and printed poplin. Fastenings include: brass push buttons, and an open-ended brass zipper with a Puma shaped pull.
ASSIMILATION Criss-Cross Racer Back Dress Prototype - A layered ribbed hem dress, with a visible lining and ring inspired criss cross straps continuing into an open racer back. Fastened with a single brass push button. Transfer print Puma Logo. * For the prototype the print inspiration fabric was used, but the respective continent prints would be used in production.
