68 Mustang Restoration

Easily one of my longest projects, my 1968 Ford Mustang. It was purchased with no engine or really anything under the hood. It did however have a brand new Tremec 5 speed transmission ready to go and all new upholstered interior. After installing my freshly built engine and installing all the accessories, I ended up having to completely rewire the car as it had suffered a major short which fried a large portion of the wiring harness. The original drum brakes were swapped out with updated disc brakes, which required a whole new brake circuit. The coils and shocks were all replaced. I scrapped the old ram-cylinder assist power steering for a more simple Borgeson power steering box which integrates the assist into the actual steering box. All bushings and tie rods were also replaced at this point. Lastly the dash and interior was cleaned up. It has ran without a problem since. This project truly made me understand and appreciate mechanical engineering and inspired me to be a part of it.
