Applied Pavement Technology - APTech is a national pavement engineering company that is locally based in Champaign. They are one of the top in their field and wanted their identity to reflect that level of sophistication. In creating my mark I referenced construction plans, using their visual language to inform my design. The mark is a visual representation of pavement from side view. The top horizontal lines represent the ground surface and the indentation in the middle represents the area that is filled with pavement.

Hip Hop Information Tour (HHITT) - HHITT is an in-progress project created to get African American kids interested in the fields of information technology and science through Hip Hop. My mark is based on the idea of the “cypher”, or circle, within Hip Hop culture. Stemming from Hip Hop’s early days when emcees would gather on street corners, forming a circle to freestyle and battle each other. The circle is also a foundational element within mathematics and science.
Project 500 40th Anniversary - A logo proposal celebrating the 40th anniversary of Project 500, an initiative to desegregate the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign during the 60s. The mark portrays a sense of pride and celebration. The hand-done texture draws from the patterns of African textiles, with the colors influenced by Black Panther Party material. The three parts of the flourish represent the three different eras (60s, 80s, and recent) of graduates who have succeeded since the founding of the project.
The Lunchbox Lecture Series - Logo proposal for the Academy of Entrepreneurship's Lunchbox Lecture Series. The logo needed to embody the ideas of entrepreneurship, 'thinking outside the box', and 'bringing people together'. The green color choice symbolizes harmony and reflects the monetary aspect of the lecture.
