My final project for Digital Image Manipulation. The assignment was to convey a mental disorder graphically, and I chose schizophrenia.
"Souvenirs de Seattle (Memories of Seattle)." My final project for Painting II. 80% graphite, Sharpie, and watercolor and 20% Photoshop. The assignment was to illustrate a memory as a "memory map." I chose my trip to Seattle with the Concordia Choir in the spring of that year, which was a very happy memory for me. The design is based on posters created by Alphonse Mucha, my favorite artist and pioneer of the Art Nouveau movement. In this piece, emblems bearing symbols from the trip that resonated with me (the graphics that I designed for our Tour sweatshirts, the moving statue outside of the art museum, and the Space Needle) encircle my head while a map of Seattle fills the canvas.
