"Nevermore" Gallery Show
Edgar Allan Poe’s poems and short stories are haunting in nature with common themes of death, lost love, mental illness and anxiety. His ominous and gothic writing style makes the reader feel uncomfortable but also intrigued. I was first introduced to Edgar Allan Poe’s work in middle school with classics such as “The Tell Tale Heart” “Annabel Lee” and “The Raven” and my interest grew in high school and college. NEVERMORE is my way of visually expressing his stories in my own experimental style and I do this by selecting an object within these works that has the most significance, along with splashes of vibrant color to create an abstract representation of the story as a whole. Using these images with bold colors I hope that my audience will be able to appreciate my take on these classic stories.
